Catalog criteria · Vitamania, Jakarta
How we choose products for the catalog
Every product in the Vitamania catalog got there because someone read the label first. This page explains the criteria we apply, the things that disqualify a listing, and the limits of what we can check on your behalf.
The short version
It's not a long process, but it's a consistent one, and it's the reason the catalog stays short: a readable ingredient panel, positioning we can explain in one sentence, a profile we can describe without guessing at amounts, and a format you can actually work into a daily routine.
Four checks, in order, before a listing goes live
Each check can end the conversation. Most candidates stop at the first one, and that is the point — a shorter list is easier to shop from than a longer one.
First filter
A readable ingredient panel
We need to see what's inside, in what order, and in what amounts. Proprietary blends and vague botanical complexes end the review here.
Second filter
Clear positioning
If we can't say in one sentence what a formula is for and who it's aimed at, it doesn't get listed. There has to be something concrete to compare.
Third check
Ingredient profile and format
We note the core nutrients, any botanical or antioxidant additions, and whether it's a capsule or a tablet — the details you'd check on the pack yourself.
Then we write
A description that matches the pack
We describe what's actually printed on the label and leave the comparison to you. No scores, no ranking between profiles.
What disqualifies a listing
We don't test in a lab. We read labels.
Our role is limited and we'd rather state that clearly than pretend otherwise. These are the things we cannot do, and the reason a listing can be accurate about ingredients and still say nothing about how a product will feel.
Not checked
We don't run lab tests on any formula we describe.
Ingredient names and amounts come from the label itself, not from our own analysis.
Not verified
We don't inspect facilities or confirm sourcing claims.
If a brand describes where an ingredient came from, we can repeat the claim but not stand behind it.
Not published
We don't print prices, because they move across marketplaces.
Check the shop you buy from for the current figure and for what shipping adds.
Not our call
We don't say which product suits your body.
A qualified professional can weigh your situation in a way a catalog page cannot.
Ingredient profile and format
A profile we can describe, pass by pass
Once a product passes the first two filters, we look at what's actually in it. We note the core nutrients, any botanical or antioxidant additions, and the format: capsule or tablet. NOW ADAM Men's Multivitamin, for example, includes saw palmetto, lycopene, alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, resveratrol, and grape seed extract, sold as veg capsules. That's a specific profile we can describe. A formula with the same name but no disclosed amounts wouldn't get that far.
We're not ranking these profiles against each other. We're documenting them so you can compare. If you want the deeper reading on individual nutrients, the ingredient guide covers what each one is usually included for and how to read the amounts on a panel.
- Core nutrients Vitamins and minerals for men, listed with amounts rather than grouped into a blend.
- Botanical and antioxidant extras Lycopene, grape seed extract, resveratrol and similar additions, named individually.
- Format Capsule or tablet, and how many a day the pack suggests you take.
- Serving count How long one pack lasts at the suggested daily amount, so a routine is easy to cost out.
In the catalog
NOW ADAM Men's Multivitamin
Saw palmetto, lycopene, alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, resveratrol and grape seed extract, sold as veg capsules. A daily multivitamin profile we can describe line by line.
In the catalog
Centrum Advance Men
Widely seen in Indonesian listings. Familiarity doesn't carry a listing on its own, but a clear panel does.
In the catalog
Blackmores Men's Performance Multi
A daily multivitamin aimed at active routines, described here for its stated ingredients rather than for outcomes.
In the catalog
Biofinest Fertility Men Multivitamin
A specialty formula that goes through the same three checks. The category doesn't change the standard.
Energy and endurance
Formulas built around daily energy
The energy and endurance supplements we cover are listed the same way: ingredients first, positioning second.
Marketplace visibility tells us what men are already seeing and searching for. Centrum Advance Men shows up repeatedly in Indonesian listings, and that familiarity is real. But popularity alone doesn't earn a listing. A widely sold product with an unclear panel or vague positioning still gets left out. We use marketplace visibility as context, not as a substitute for the criteria above. It tells us what to look at, not what to recommend.
Why the catalog stays short
There are hundreds of men's vitamin supplements available in Indonesia. We list a small fraction of them, and that's deliberate. A catalog that includes everything stops being useful, because the reader has to do all the filtering themselves.
By applying consistent criteria, we cut the list down to products worth comparing. Some good products may not appear here because we haven't reviewed them yet, not because they failed. The catalog grows slowly, and that's the point.
What we list, and what we leave out
Listed
Formulas with disclosed amounts, plain positioning, and a format that fits a daily routine.
Held back
Hidden blends, unclear targets, or an ingredient list we cannot read with confidence.
Not yet reviewed
Many good natural supplements for men simply haven't crossed our desk. That's a gap in coverage, not a verdict.
Removed later
If a formula changes and the panel no longer matches our description, the listing is corrected or pulled.
Corrections and updates
If a label changes, the listing changes with it
If a manufacturer changes a formula, our description may fall out of date. We update listings when we notice, and we welcome corrections from readers. If you spot an ingredient list that no longer matches what's on the package, write to us and we'll look at it.
Accuracy matters more than having a long list of products. A small, current catalog beats a large, stale one every time. Send the product name, the shop you saw it in, and a photo of the panel if you have one.
Questions we get about the standard
Does a paid placement get a product into the catalog?
No. A listing depends on a readable ingredient panel and positioning we can explain in one sentence. Marketplace visibility tells us what to look at; it does not decide what gets described.
Do you say which product is better than another?
No. We document ingredient profiles side by side and leave the comparison to you. Ranking would suggest we know something about your routine that we don't.
A brand I like isn't listed. What does that mean?
Usually that we haven't reviewed it yet. Coverage grows as we work through panels, and a missing listing isn't a judgment on a formula we have never read.
Can you tell me whether a capsule is right for me?
We can describe what's in a formula and how it's meant to be taken. For anything about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional — that's a conversation a catalog page can't hold.
How often does the catalog change?
Slowly, and on purpose. We add a listing when a panel has been read properly, and we correct or remove one when the pack no longer matches our description. Food supplements are not medicines; they are intended to support an everyday routine alongside normal meals.
Next step
Read the label, then decide what fits your week
Start with the catalog if you already know what you're looking for, or with the ingredient guide if you want help reading a panel before you compare. If something on a listing looks wrong, tell us and we'll check it against the pack.
